haha bb/gb hike was so fun! but don think the recruits enjoyed it though.. they had 6 hrs of tent pitching and striking in total in their 2 day schedule. lol cliff assigned me to gb squad 4, quite quiet lah but at least they were cooperative. before the hike had inspection as usual and 1 squad had to send out a volunteer to dip their bag into a pail of water to make sure its waterproofed. den had water parade when the recruits had to finish a 1.5litre bottle.
well, then was the plotting of the routes on the maps as usual, was pretty boring. haha finally after all that, we set off to our 1st checkpoint. at 1st they couldn't find what they're supposed to find, and finally i told them the answer (shhh) but its understandable, cos the question was really stupid, the question was "I am..." and the answer was an electrical box. i mean, such a minor detail and cliff expects them to find it. haha i won't elaborate much, den finally we reached changi beach park, those sec1 bb boys had to pitch and strike for countless hours. haiz poor thing, but its a requirement. about 5 minutes after the last tent was pitched, there came a thunderstorm. den some tents were not stable enough so the instructors had to repair it for them. finally after the rain stopped was field cooking, nothing much but instant noodles.
after dinner, the recruits had to pitch strike pitch strike for another 2 hours before their powder bath. by then, it was already 10.30 pm and it was time to sleep, i guess the sec1s were exhuasted by then. yep, instructors couldn't sleep in tents cos we had to make sure that no intruders came. so we juz sat on the benches and in the pavillion and minded our own business.den cliff was going on and on asking me y i volunteered to come for the hike when i could be sleeping comfortably on my bed at home now.lol i keep saying for fun, den duno which instructor told him the truth. ( how the heck did he know?!)
2nd day, first was morning pt den the recruits had to pitch strike again for 1 hour. den the whole gb/bb walked together back to ahs. but there wasn't enough time as when we reached loyang, it was already 10 and we intended to reach ahs by 10.30 so we took bus 9 to tanah merah mrt station where we made our way back to school. haha wont elaborate much, after that was cleaning of the tents den final debrief, dismissal.
last but not least, GB / BB rox 4eva!!
